Basque Country mountains

Internationally, Basque Country is best known for its coast side, surf or having fun during the summer ferias or at least these are the main clichés.

I’m not originally from there but having been going there since my early childhood, it has grown on me and became like home at some point. Basque Country is a complex, rich and unique area of the World, especially in the backcountry side where mountains, sinuous roads, waterfalls and many other gems can be discovered.

Being very fond of this country, I imagines an old vintage travel poster to pay tribute to all these remote locations engraved in Basque Country’s landscape and to highlight the mountain’s importance.

When I found the picture of an underrated yet very talented photographer named Indalecio Ojanguren, a picture taken on the top of mountain Arburu, I immediately fell in love and knew it would be the foundation for my own work.
